I'm lara nasser, creator of hostile homeware. everything in the shop is my work, and everything is for sale.
i grew up in lebanon and moved to nyc in 2013, working as a conceptual artist for the next decade. i recently returned to beirut and found myself making abstract, alien-looking lamps, which a friend referred to as “hostilities for the home...” thus the brand was born :)
i didn’t know what to do with the project until a storefront caught my eye on pharoun street. so i made a bunch more pieces and converted the former coffee roastery into a maximalist space where sci-fi decor clashes with retro, teta-core furniture and flirtatious prints.
the result is a delightfully weird vibe we don't really know what to call yet, inviting visitors to shop, hang out, and enjoy a surreal escape from the purgatory of daily life. i like to think that every piece we sell is a disruption of the mundane, a portable totem of fantasy for buyers to live with.
